Eat Well Catering by Harrison’s is a well-versed group of full-service catering and hospitality professionals with more than 30 years of relevant industry experience.
We are true food people and we take great pride in planning, creating and crafting thoughtful, inspired menus for you: the people who enjoy food just as much as we do. We specialize in a variety of events ranging from intimate get-togethers and corporate events to large-scale galas and dreamy weddings. Our devoted and reliable team of chefs, coordinators, and catering service staff promises to serve high quality cuisine for any occasion.
Proprietor & Chef, Harrison Schailey
Originally raised in the city of “brotherly love”, Chef Harrison made his way to Penn State University as a college freshman where he began a culinary adventure that would eventually take he and Kit Henshaw, his spouse and business partner, to San Francisco where they experienced a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work on the life-changing San Francisco Garden Project.
This Project instilled a unique appreciation for restaurant-supported agriculture, environmentally sound growing practices and running a socially responsible business. Simply put, they had the privilege to train and apprentice with some of the best Bay Area restaurants and chefs (Chez Panisse, Mustards Grill, and others). From these experiences, they learned important and valuable lessons about providing customers with the best tasting food and, as much as possible, supporting the local community.
Upon returning to Centre County, Chef Harrison and Kit began building a local business that began as “Harrison’s To-Go”, an upscale carryout concept well ahead of this current trend and evolved into an award-winning restaurant and full-service catering business. In 2016, this respected hospitality partnership acquired Above the Valley Event Center, formerly the Mt. Nittany Inn located at the summit of Mt. Nittany.
Year after year, Harrison’s is awarded the title of Best Caterer of State College by the readers of State College Magazine. Through it all “Eat Well” has been the basis of every ingredient found in any menu created, crafted and served by our experienced culinary team in any area of our business.
